How to Copy Words from a Picture on iPhone

In today’s digital age, the ability to extract text from images is a valuable skill. Whether you need to copy words from a menu, a sign, or any other visual content, your iPhone can help you do it with ease. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to copy words from a picture on iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Camera App

The first step is to take a clear picture of the text you want to copy. Open the Camera app on your iPhone and point the camera at the text. Make sure the text is well-lit and in focus for the best results.

Step 2: Use the Notes App

After taking the picture, open the Notes app on your iPhone. Tap on the “New Note” button to create a new note. Then, tap on the “Camera” button located in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Select the “Scan Document” Feature

When the Camera screen appears, tap on the “Scan Document” button. This feature is designed to recognize text in images and convert it into editable text. Point your camera at the picture with the text, and the app will automatically detect the text.

Step 4: Adjust the Frame

If the app doesn’t detect the text correctly, you can manually adjust the frame around the text. Tap on the frame and drag it to cover the entire text area. Once you’re satisfied with the frame, tap on the “Keep” button.

Step 5: Copy the Text

After the text is recognized, it will appear in the Notes app. Tap on the text to select it, and then tap on the “Share” button (the box with an arrow). Choose “Copy” from the menu that appears, and the text will be copied to your iPhone’s clipboard.

Step 6: Paste the Text

Now that the text is copied, you can paste it into any other app or document. Open the app where you want to paste the text, tap on the text field, and then tap on the “Paste” button (the clipboard icon).

And that’s it! You’ve successfully copied words from a picture on your iPhone. This feature can be particularly useful when you need to quickly extract information from a visual source, making your iPhone an even more versatile tool.
