Step-by-Step Guide- How to Permanently Delete Your Instagram Account Directly from the App

How to Delete Instagram Account from App

Deleting your Instagram account from the app is a straightforward process that can be completed in just a few steps. Whether you’re looking to take a break from social media or simply want to remove your profile for good, here’s a guide on how to delete your Instagram account directly from the app on your smartphone.

Step 1: Open the Instagram App

The first step is to open the Instagram app on your smartphone. If you haven’t already downloaded the app, you can find it in the App Store for iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Step 2: Go to Your Profile

Once the app is open, tap on the profile icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will take you to your profile page, where you can see your posts, stories, and other account details.

Step 3: Access the Settings

On your profile page, tap on the three horizontal lines or the gear icon located in the top right corner of the screen. This will open the Settings menu.

Step 4: Select Account

Scroll down the Settings menu and tap on “Account.” This section contains various options related to your account settings, including privacy, notifications, and more.

Step 5: Choose Delete Your Account

Within the Account section, scroll down and tap on “Delete Your Account.” This option is usually located at the bottom of the list.

Step 6: Confirm Your Decision

When you tap on “Delete Your Account,” Instagram will ask you to confirm your decision. Choose the reason for deleting your account from the provided options, such as “I want to take a break,” “I’m not using Instagram anymore,” or “I don’t want my account to be visible.” After selecting a reason, tap “Continue” to proceed.

Step 7: Enter Your Password

Instagram will prompt you to enter your password to verify your identity. Once you’ve entered your password, tap “Delete Account” to finalize the process.

After following these steps, your Instagram account will be deleted, and you will no longer be able to access it from the app. Please note that once your account is deleted, it cannot be restored, and all your data, including photos, videos, and messages, will be permanently removed from Instagram’s servers.

Remember, if you’re unsure about deleting your account, you can also deactivate it temporarily by going to the “Delete Your Account” page and selecting “Deactivate Your Account” instead. This will make your profile invisible to others, and you can reactivate it at any time by logging back in.
